Tenders are invited from suitably qualified construction contractors for the works described in the Scope of Works.
The project comprises two distinct portions:
Portion 1: CH 1040 – CH 1670
Portion 2: CH 0 – CH 1000
Each portion must be priced independently. Portion 2 is included for pricing purposes only and may be excluded at the Principal’s discretion if costs exceed the project’s budget.
The works generally include:
Construction methodology that ensures reinstatement to the required level of flood protection (as specified by BOPRC) if a flood risk is forecast within three days.
Staged delivery of the two separable portions without overlap.
Site security and public safety at all times, including temporary access and diversions where required.
Location and protection of existing services.
Project management and site supervision, including environmental controls and traffic management.
Stopbank works: topsoil stripping, stockpiling, borrow pit stripping, realignment, widening, and topping-up.
Replacement and upgrade of culverts, including associated structures and reinstatement.
Removal and reconstruction of floodwalls in accordance with design specifications.
Compliance with Erosion and Sediment Control Plan and consent conditions.
Groundwater management and dewatering for excavations.
Reinstatement of six ramps along stopbanks, including bollard removal and replacement.
Engagement with landowners and the public to minimise disruption.
Preparation and submission of as-built drawings.
Other miscellaneous works as described or implied in the specifications and drawings.
