Background and Request for Information Process
Introduction and background
This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for Bay of Plenty Regional Council (BOPRC) to obtain information to support its supply chain strategy for rock supply, cartage and placement services for BOPRC’s Rivers and Drainage operations. BOPRC is using a formal RFI process (rather than an informal discussion) as we are using information gathered as one of the reference points for determining future options.
This RFI is an opportunity for suppliers to present their views on how BOPRC and the market should work together for the sustainable and affordable long-term supply, cartage and placement of rock. Suppliers are advised that commercially sensitive information will be treated confidentially, and any opinions given will be non-attributable in any subsequent supply chain strategy.
The information the BOPRC is seeking is:
• Clarity about current and future market capacity and capability
• Increasing its understanding of how best to engage with the supply chain to secure future needs at an affordable cost
• Understanding supply chain constraints and ideas suppliers have to manage those constraints
• Understanding realistic options for preparing for, and managing, significant events.
