Overview

Building Better Bike Hubs (Bike Hub Operator)

The purpose of this Advance Notice is to identify community organisations that are interested in submitting a RFQ as Operators of Community Bike Hubs.
If you are interested in being involved in the Bike Hub in some capacity, but not being directly responsible for its operation, you will be able to submit that interest below, but will not receive a RFQ.

The Building Better Bike Hubs (BBBH) project (funded under the Ngā Tiriti Ngangahau Programme) aims to establish a new model of Bike Hubs to meet community needs. In a nutshell, this new model is for the creation of up to ten1 new AT owned, community-run bike hubs in the next two years.
In this model, AT will find the land and manage the physical site set-up and management. It will then contract community organisations to operate the Bike Hub. These Operators will be responsible and accountable for the Bike Hub’s appropriate operation within the community. It is of the utmost importance that the Bike Hub Operators are committed to delivering a consistent and trusted model that is fit for purpose and responsive to the local community.
The Bike Hubs are being delivered in stages, with the first delivery slated for late 2022 and the last stage in mid to late 2023. Contracts will be awarded in stages prior to these delivery stages to allow time for training and further community engagement.
