Auckland Transport requires either an annual or a quarterly Active Modes survey, which is representative of the Auckland residents aged 15 years and over. The research objectives are to:
• track key measures already established in AT’s Active modes surveys;
• drive understanding of what is important to Aucklanders about active modes of transport;
• monitor Aucklanders’ attitudes and perceptions of walking and cycling as transport modes;
• measure Aucklanders’ walking and cycling behaviour change; and
• identify key drivers, motivation and barriers.
