The recently approved Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) 2018-28 has committed Auckland, over the next 10 years, to an unprecedented level of investment in its transport infrastructure and operation, creating significant challenges by its scale, complexity and timescale. Together with other significant infrastructure programmes led by other sectors (NZTA, NZ Housing, Auckland Airport to name a few) that are competing for the same resources during this period, there is significant pressure on the construction professional services and physical works supplier market to respond to, and deliver against, quality, time and cost constraints of these combined programmes of works.

In this market sounding exercise, Auckland Transport would like to understand from you, our industry partners, what you believe are the main opportunities and challenges facing us, as we aim to deliver this ambitious plan together over the next 10 years. Our goal is to identify what will be the key drivers and enablers of success, and grow relationships across industry that will enable delivery of the shared outcomes that the RLTP is seeking to achieve.

This RLTP market sounding exercise will not replace individual and more detailed sounding exercises for specific programmes of work that are planned (either for professional services or physical works), however to give some advanced notice, we have listed below a number of key engagements that we will bring to market in the next few months. We will keep industry informed of any future upcoming programme of activity in this area.
