[UPDATE] Auckland Transport is anticipating to go out to market in Late January 2018 for the 369-18-344-PS Mill Road Improvements Detailed Design.
Tender Group Interactive will be conducted while the tender is live in market.
Notice will be provided in tender documentation of when the tender interactive is planned to occur, anticipated within 1-2 weeks after tender release.
Registrations of Interest for attendance to the Interactive will be made available upon release of tender.
Prospective RFP overview:
This design procurement is for the professional services required to undertake the final detailed design of the Redoubt Rd – Mill Rd Corridor Northen Section upgrade based on the previously completed pre-liminary design. It includes further site investigation (geotechnical, survey, etc.), land acquisition, consultation, statutory application (an Outline Plan of Work, Resource and Building consents, etc.), traffic assessment, early procurement and collaboration with a construction contractor, and providing MSQA during the construction.
The detailed design component of this project is anticipated to take up to three years.
RFP Background:
The Redoubt Rd – Mill Rd Corridor has District status in the Manukau Operative District Plan and is shown as part of the future Regional Arterial network. The Redoubt Rd – Mill Rd Corridor upgrade project (the Project) extends from the intersection of State Highway 1 off ramp and Redoubt Rd to Alfriston Road/Mill Road intersection including Murphys Rd (from Flatbush School Rd to Redoubt Rd). Improvements include widening these roads to four lanes with localised bus lanes and walking and cycling facilities.
The significant benefits of this upgrade are:
• to create a regional arterial that will ease access issues to, and congestion on, SH1 and can act as an alternative route should SH1 be compromised;
• to provide increased connectivity between growth areas in the region; and,
• to improve walking and cycling facilities; access to public transport; journey times; and, safety through improved horizontal and vertical alignments and intersection upgrades.
