Auckland Transport is a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) covering the Auckland region that extends from the mouth of the Kaipara Harbour in the north across the southern stretches of the North Auckland Peninsula, past the Waitakere Ranges and the isthmus of Auckland and across the low-lying land surrounding the Manukau Harbour.
Auckland Transport is responsible for all of the region's transport services (excluding state highways), from roads and footpaths, to cycling, parking and public transport. Auckland Transport contracts with independent public transport Service Providers so that PT Services may be provided to the public in Auckland Transport's jurisdictional region. Auckland Transport's PT Services include rail, bus and ferry services.
Auckland Transport intends to create a successful, strategic, long-term commercial business relationship with public transport Service Providers. The business relationship will be based on the Public Transport Operating Model (PTOM).
This RFT sets out to identify and award a Service Contract to a Preferred Tenderer who will be able to best provide Auckland Transport with PT Bus Services in a Unit. This RFT covers a total of four individual Units, comprising four unique Service Contracts for PT Bus Services in central and east Auckland, as identified in the table below. The PT Bus Services required are detailed in Appendix 1A and Appendix 1B attached to this RFT.
