Auckland Transport is proposing to construct a Park and Ride facility on KiwiRail land located on the south side of Waikumete Road, Glen Eden. Refer to the figure below. The Park and Ride, which services the Glen Eden area for public transport on the western rail line between Swanson and Britomart, will be constructed to replace the existing Park and Ride on the western corner of Glenview Road and West Coast Road.
The new Park and Ride will be built to replace the existing one in a like-for-like sense, containing approximately 80 parking spaces, however, improvements will be made in terms of security and stormwater management.
The selection process for a construction contract comprises of 2 stages: Registration of Interest (ROI) (this document) and a Request for Tender (RFT).
The site is immediately adjacent to the electrified rail corridor and is within minimum approach distances (MAD) for plant, machinery and people.
Note that a Resource Consent application is currently in process and expected to be granted prior to contract award.
In accordance with Auckland Transport’s prequalification procedures this work has been classified as Rail Infrastructure AT6. Only those companies prequalified to this level are eligible to register interest for this tender. Companies registering their interest must have experience working in or near the rail corridor.
