406-14-838-GS AT HOP Card Services and Card Supply
AT have a requirement for different types of Smartcards - customer, photo and related cards. A solution is sought for card supply and card services.
The Auckland Integrated Fares and Ticketing (AIFS) scheme otherwise known as AT HOP, went live on Rail, Bus and Ferry services progressively from late 2012 (Rail and Ferry) through to early 2014 (Bus). On a busy day the scheme may process up to 600,000 transactions against a daily revenue stream of $1M.
The ticketing machines, retail devices, mobile audit devices, gate lines, vending reload devices and back of house network solution is all supplied and maintained by Thales. The sales and support functions are carried out by a mix of independent retailers, operators and AT.
The current contract for card supply does not include card services within its scope. Card services are currently managed by AT. This tender will outline a requirement to transition card services to the successful card supplier. However, there is no commitment from AT to agree to these services if it proves to be non-viable.
