AgResearch is seeking a Main Contractor for the conversion of existing laboratory space into office accommodation on the Ruakura Campus in Hamilton.
This fitout for I.V.S. (Independent Verfication Services Ltd) involves the conversion of existing laboratory premises into office accommodation consisting of individual offices , open plan work areas and associated meeting spaces. This is achieved by removing a number of laboratories and altering the existing timber framed structure to suit the new layout along with associated electrical and mechanical services alterations . Generally work falls within the scope of NZS 3604 for Light Timber Framed Construction.
As the work is limited to a 1/3 of the entire building , the successful contractor will need to maintain services to the remainder of the building to minimize disruption to the other occupants. Hoardings will need to be put in place to isolate the contract works from the rest of the building and keep staff out of the construction zone.
The approximate area of the fitout is 420 sqm with minimal work to the exterior of the single storey building. Vehicle access and limited parking is available from the back of the building.
Existing toilets will need to be refurbished with new finishes and new fittings , some minor staging will be necessary to ensure toilets are available to staff throughout the contract period.
