Overview

Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre is a significant equestrian facility located on James Mackie Road, Helensville, within the Rodney Local Board area. The site has historically been used as a regional equestrian venue and presents opportunities for broadened activation, increased community use, diversified revenue streams and enhanced recreational outcomes.

The Woodhill Sands site is currently owned by the operators of Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre. Auckland Council is in negotiations with the current owners for the acquisition of the site, and this RFP is issued in anticipation of that acquisition. Auckland Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to activate, operate and manage the Woodhill Sands site.

This RFP, and any arrangement resulting from it, is conditional on the sale and purchase agreement being signed, the agreement becoming unconditional and settlement of the council's acquisition of the site being completed. If the proposed acquisition does not become unconditional, or settlement does not occur, the council may suspend, amend or cancel this RFP, or decline to enter into any arrangement, at any time and without liability to respondents.

This is in addition to the rights the council reserves under Auckland Council's RFx Conditions, which apply to this RFP — including the right to accept none or any of the proposals, to amend, suspend, withdraw or cancel the process in whole or in part at any time, and to negotiate with one or more respondents, in each case without incurring any liability to any respondent. The council gives no assurance as to the timing of the acquisition or completion of settlement, and respondents participate on the basis that they bear their own costs of participation.
