Overview

The Auckland Council Group (ACG) and Ports of Auckland (POAL) are seeking an experienced energy consultant to assist with the development, implementation and management of a robust, group-wide energy strategy.
The consultant will be expected to work closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to assess our current energy usage, understand the unique needs of each entity, and identify synergies across the group, whilst considering ACG’s and POAL’s commitment to energy efficiency, sustainability and cost optimisation. We are looking for a consultant with demonstrated experience working with local government or public sector organisations, who understands the regulatory, governance, and budgetary frameworks that typically apply in this sector.
A key objective of this engagement is to explore alternatives to traditional energy retail contracts, with a focus on securing long-term, sustainable energy solutions that enhance security of supply and offer greater predictability of pricing, as well as aligning with sustainability goals.
Ultimately, we require a consultant who can provide clear, practical recommendations and help guide our group toward a more strategic, resilient, and forward-looking energy strategy, with the flexibility to tailor solutions according to differing requirements across the council group.
