This EOI is issued to selected suppliers based on their previous track record with Auckland Council to be in the pre-qualified list to deliver a programme of major stormwater physical works projects in FY2016-17 and FY2017-18 involving Pipe Jacking. We will be taking this approach for a targeted set of high value projects of similar methodology. This supplier pre-qualification may be used by Watercare also for their Wastewater projects with similar methodology and also by AT and other Council Controlled Organisations.
EOI is issued to selected suppliers to gather and evaluate relevant information to pre-qualify suppliers and to confirm their interest in being pre-qualified. Based on this EOI only three suppliers will be pre-qualified for this category of projects. We will have a list of high value projects with targeted Pipe Jacking methodology to be delivered over the next two financial years. Based on our budget, the annual expected spend under this category of works will be between $15 million to $20 million. This may vary depending on the project readiness and budget allocation based on prioritisation of projects to be delivered in a year. During the second stage when the individual project is ready for delivery, we will issue RFT to the pre-qualified suppliers under this EOI, with weighting on price, methodology and resource availability only (attributes may change depending on the specific project requirements).
The purpose of pre-qualifying suppliers in this sub-category will help to speed up the tendering process by eliminating the need for EOI process and repeated submission of same information through multiple procurements. This will help to reduce the number of multi stage procurements from Council, wasting supplier market resources and Council’s internal resources.
