Auckland Council requires a new rates modelling software tool for use by the Financial Policy team to calculate the level of rates which will meet Council rates revenue targets as well as analyse the relevant scenarios. The current system was an ad-hoc interim solution built using desktop personal productivity tools (MS Excel and MS Access). Access is no longer an IS supported application in Council and the system itself is no longer fit for purpose given Council's growing financial planning needs.
