Notice to Auckland Council suppliers
As part of Auckland Council’s commitment to openness and transparency, we will begin publishing information about the council’s contracts and spend with suppliers on our website by the end of April 2015.
This information will take the form of two reports:
• an Awarded Contracts Report, which will list the project description, supplier name, and contract start and end dates for recently awarded contracts (including provisional spending commitments in some instances) valued at $100,000 and greater (without specifying the exact contract value)
• a Supplier Spend Report, which will list actual total spend by supplier for the past six months, for all totals $100,000 and greater.
The format of these reports balances the expectation of transparency with the need to protect commercially confidential information. Private information of sole traders has been protected in both reports.
These reports will align Auckland Council with public sector best practice and with reporting processes similar to those of Auckland Transport and central government agencies.
Publishing this information will now be standard practice for Auckland Council. The reports will be updated every six months (in April and October), and published in the Media Centre* on the Auckland Council website. Going forward, the council may also choose to disclose specific contract values for new contracts entered into after the date of this notice.
