The procurement will establish contractual arrangements with providers that can deliver high-quality, culturally responsive tutoring services which support Pacific learners to improve literacy and numeracy achievement, strengthen engagement in learning, and increase preparedness for future educational pathways.

The Pacific Homework and Tutoring Initiative is designed to provide supplementary educational support in addition to learning taking place within schools. Services are intended to assist Pacific learners who require additional support to strengthen their achievement in the literacy and numeracy co-requisite examinations. This service will be available to approximately 1150 ākonga in 17 schools across the Auckland region where Pacific learners comprise at least 50% of the years 9 and 10 student population.

The Ministry intends on releasing an RFP for the above opportunity in the coming weeks.
