The Electoral Commission is responsible for running New Zealand’s parliamentary elections. This is a large logistical exercise with specialist requirements.

Following a request for information process earlier in the year, we are now seeking proposals from suppliers for the storage and distribution of electoral supplies and equipment, including warehousing and inventory management, storage, packing, and distribution services.
Suppliers must have fit for purpose facilities and equipment, and well established systems and procedures in place to ensure safe and secure storage and distribution of over 100 different supply items of varying size and packaging.

We are holding an open briefing session via Teams for this opportunity. Pre-registration is required. During the briefing we will provide further context around our requirements and key priorities, and provide opportunity for questions.

After the open Request for Proposal process, the Electoral Commission, of 34-42 Manners Street, Wellington is pleased to announce the suppliers we have selected to deliver storage and distribution services from April 2027. Blue Star Group (New Zealand) Ltd, NZBN 9429036984435 has been selected to provide storage services for the Commission. Mainfreight Ltd, NZBN 9429040418087 has been selected to provide distribution services. This notice will be updated when contracts are signed, likely to be later in 2026/early 2027, after delivery of the general election.
