Register as a Supplier

YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO READ THE USER GUIDES AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS SECTIONS WHICH PROVIDE MORE DETAILS ON HOW TO REGISTER ON GETS, MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT AND FOLLOW AND RESPOND TO TENDERS.

Anyone can register as a user on GETS and the process is very simple. To use GETS you will need to: accept the GETS Terms and Conditions of Use, supply some basic information and create a RealMe login.

For GETS we require

  • Business name or trading name (you should use your own name if you are registering as an individual)
  • Address details: street, city, postcode/ZIP code, country and time zone
  • Your first name, surname, email address and telephone number

You will receive an email with a link which you will need to follow to confirm your account activation.

RealMe

You are able to use your existing RealMe login with GETS, just enter your user name and password when you reach the RealMe login page and your GETS account will automatically be linked. If you don't have a RealMe login you will need to create one as part of the registration process. You can get help on creating your RealMe account here. You DO NOT need to verify your RealMe account.

Using GETS

Once registered you will need to log in to add your categories and regions so you will be notified of any opportunities that match your interests. This is done through the "Update account" link in the menu on the left hand side of the screen. You will then receive email notifications and be able to follow and respond to tenders.

GETS uses the United Nations Standard Products and Services Classification (UNSPSC) system to identify the categories of products, it is an internationally recognised standard for identifying goods and services.

More information on how to get the best out of GETS is available here.

Register as a Purchaser

YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASER TRAINING MODULE BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO INITIATE AND MANAGE TENDER PROCESSES ON GETS. FOR MORE GUIDANCE ON THE PROCUREMENT PROCESS PLEASE USE THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE ON THE PROCUREMENT WEBSITE.

To register as a purchaser you must be an employee or authorised agent of an eligible organisation.

You should first contact your organisation's GETS Administrator (ETCO) or the person responsible for purchasing in your organisation who will be able to create your account. If you don't know who this is you can contact the GETS helpdesk who will have your administrator's details.

If you are acting as an agent of a purchasing organisation you must have an agreement with the organisation which clearly states you are authorised to act on their behalf and also details the scope of your work and any specific responsibilities or processes you will need to follow. The GETS administrator at MBIE may need a copy of that agreement before your account can be created.

If your organisation is not already configured in GETS it will need to be created, this is a simple process that is managed by MBIE. They will be advised of your request by the GETS Helpdesk and will contact you for further information.

You may be required to complete an eligibility test to determine whether your organisation is able to use GETS as a purchaser before your account can be created.

Once your account has been created you will need to complete an online training module which covers all the processes you will use to initiate and manage tenders on GETS. The training should take no more than an hour and also serves as a reference guide for future use.

If you are an Administrator for your organisation's account there is additional support and guidance available through MBIE. You can access this through the GETS Helpdesk.

There is a wealth of supporting guidance and information available on the Procurement website with a comprehensive suite to guides, tools and templates to help with every aspect of the procurement process.
