Tenders are invited from suitably qualified/experienced civil construction contractors for the works described in this document. The works will renew the existing gravity water main from the Ngāti-Awa reservoir at 14 Ōtarawairere Road to the May Reserve near the intersection of Ōhope Road and Pohutukawa Avenue.

This Contract includes all of the work required to install the pipework, connections, valves and associated chambers between the reservoir and the water mains along Pohutukawa Avenue and West End Road via Otarawairere Road and Ōhope Road as indicated in the Drawings. The new pipeline replaces an existing asbestos cement water main from the reservoir down Ōtarawairere Road and Ōhope Road and part of the rising main servicing the reservoir. The proposed pipe should be installed using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD method).
Each segment must be successfully pressure tested, and any affected road surface must be reinstated in accordance with the specification. Excavation within the carriageway should be kept to the minimum possible.
