What we need
The Wellington City Council funds it kerbside rubbish collection services through sales of official council rubbish bags through a user-pays system. We intend to identify a service provider who can deliver two options on bags within the required specification for evaluation and if successful, procurement and distribution. The supplier will be acting in a ‘wholesaler/ distributor’ capacity on the Council’s behalf.
The two options, the Council is considering are;
1) An option for an official plastic bag
2) An option for a plastic bag that will breakdown into its constituents over time without forming micro plastics.
