The Council has registered over 1,277 ha of land into the Permanent Forest Sink Initiative (PFSI). As an owner of more than 100 ha of PFSI land, the Council is required to use the Government’s Field Measurement Approach (FMA) process to develop a unique emissions factor for the Council’s PFSI forests.
The Council is required to collect all information under the FMA process by 31 December 2017.
The Council is required to submit the FMA information to the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) by 31 March 2018.
The Council has already completed the following steps in the FMA process:
• Assigned a forest class (indigenous) to all of its 1,277 ha registered.
• Requested sample plot locations from the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI)
• Established and measured FMA plots for the first mandatory emissions period 2008-2012.
We are seeking a supplier who:
• Has experience with FMA Indigenous forest measurement
• Will be able to complete establishment of the permanent sample plots and complete the FMA information gathering process by 31 December 2017.
• Will be able to provide support service after the FMA measurement is complete (i.e. answer questions from Council staff on an ad-hoc basis regarding the FMA data or the FMA sample plots).
