Waikato DHB is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced midwife to provide input and support into the Southern Rural Maternity Project that is intending to deliver a new rural primary maternity model of care. We require clinical and professional midwifery input into the ongoing development and implementation of the project and model of care. We need someone who has experience with high needs populations.
The Waikato DHB is strategically improving the provision of maternity care in our region and as such it is important that we have appropriate input from an experienced midwife who understands project methodology, change processes and who has experience with community engagement. The project aims to improve access and delivery of primary maternity services to rural women to improve health outcomes for these women, their families / whanau.
This is a unique opportunity to have input into implementing a new model of care that takes a broader, sector wide view to support pregnant women and their families / whanau to achieve improved health outcomes during their pregnancy and postpartum period as well as in the longer term.
