Expressions of Interest (EOI) from contractors for SH2 Pakipaki to Waipukurau - 2 Safety Improvement Works spread across 38km of SH2 in the Hawkes Bay region, estimated construction cost $10.7M
Only Tenderers pre-qualified to Prequalification Level Construction 4B under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System will be eligible to submit a EOI for these works.
The Contract Works involve (but are not limited to) the following:
• Identification and survey of existing underground utility services and ground conditions
• Shoulder widening (approx. 27.3 km)
• W-section side barrier (approx. 0.7 km)
• Relocated w-section side barrier (approx. 1.4 km)
• Wire rope side barrier (approx. 7.7 km)
• Wire rope median barrier (approx. 3.8 km)
• Mass block retaining walls (approx. 1.0 km)
• Resurface Carriageway (approx. 52,000m2)
• Traffic management

EOI involves submitting a single A4 letter advising:
- The name of the company
- The name of the proposed Contractor’s Representative
- The proposed traffic management strategy (i.e. in house, subcontracted)
- That the company intends to submit a tender for these works, if invited to do so
- Contractors are also encouraged to provide comment on the preferred size of contracts suited to their organisational structure and resources. This will provide Safe Roads with a guide as to how future contracts can be packaged
to best suit the region.
