The NZ Transport Agency invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from contractors wishing to tender for the Opawa bridge replacement in Blenheim.The Opawa Bridge replacement project is part of the Government’s Accelerated Regional Project Programme.
The works are likely to be carried out under the Transport Agency’s Traditional Measure and Value delivery model, with the preferred tenderer selected using a Price Quality Method supplier selection method.
The works are likely to include the construction of a 2 way bridge over the Opawa river adjacent to the existing historic Opawa bridge, realignment of SH1 into the new bridge and associated works. The project is currently in the investigation phase. A variety of scheme options are being explored, and consulted publicly in the next few months. It is anticipated that a preferred option will be confirmed shortly, and detailed design, consenting and property purchase will commence by July 2016, allowing a construction start by mid to late 2017.
To facilitate the design process and enable an early Construction start on site, Transport Agency wish to have Contractor involvement during the detailed design and consultation phases of the project.
ROI are welcomed from contractors who hold Transport Agency Prequalification for Physical Works classification levels 3A Bridge Construction AND 4A Construction.
ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter in response to this advertisement, advising the name of the company or parties within a consortium, details for the nominated contact person and any key sub-consultants.
The Transport Agency reserves the right to shortlist applicants through a Statement of Interest and Ability (SIA) process if the number of registered parties makes this necessary. The SIA process will be by invitation to contractors registered through this ROI process. The SIA will not be re-advertised publicly.
Final tendering of a Construction contract is still subject to NZ Transport Agency approvals.
