We received three responses for the RFP 16092 Gas Chromatograph - Mass Spectrometer - Flame Ionization Detector.

Whilst all tenders met the required specifications, it was the opinion of the panel that the instrument that was best "fit for purpose", best value and best suited to our laboratory staff was the GC-MS-FID provided by ThermoFisher Scientific.

The capabiiities of the instrument matched the specifications outlined in the RFQ. The integrated auto-sampler and associated software was an advantage. The associated software "chromeleon" is perferred by numerous technical operators at Nelson. The training package offered was the most generous. Also the included 3 year warranty fo rparts, labour and travel was a large advantage.
