The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is inviting submissions of ROIs to reclad and strengthen the existing Hangar 4 at Base Auckland (Whenuapai).
Hangar 4 is a steel framed hangar building constructed in the 1950’s originally for Tasman Empire Airways Ltd. (TEAL). The building is now under the auspices of NZDF and used by the RNZAF.

The works will include:

- Removal of the existing roof cladding, which is to be replaced.
- New safety mesh, building paper and new roofing.
- New ridge ventilator to full length of roof.
- New guttering to match existing original system, which is to be replaced.
- Reinstate the missing wall diagonal bracing as originally fitted (One bay affected).
- Minor paint and maintenance works to steel members.
