The New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) is tasked with protecting New Zealand from risk and harm and stopping the import of illicit substances and goods through enforcement activities at the border and post-border.To ensure Customs officers are able to carry out these duties the officers need the right technology. This ROI is the first step in a multi-step procurement process to equip Customs with trace detection instruments that are able to identify a range of substances and mixtures at the trace level. These instruments will enable Customs to safely and quickly identify a range of substances that officers find.
