Healthy Families NZ is a large-scale prevention initiative that brings community leadership together in a united effort for better health. It aims to improve people’s health where they live, learn, work and play by taking a systems approach to the reduction of risk factors for major health loss and inequity.
The approach of Healthy Families NZ is in alignment with international, best practice evidence that supports a comprehensive and coordinated approach to chronic disease prevention through locally driven action in settings (where people live, learn, work and play) that is sustained over the longer-term.
Healthy Families Far North is one of ten Healthy Families NZ locations across the country. The Healthy Families Far North region covers the area from Cape Reinga / Te Rerenga Wairua to the northern boundaries of Kaipara District and Whangarei District.
The Ministry is interested in considering Proposals from Respondents with the capacity to lead the implementation of Healthy Families NZ across the Far North District. A lead provider will be chosen on the basis they are best placed to lead transformational change in their communities. The Healthy Families Far North lead provider will need to demonstrate their ability to have significant engagement with iwi across the Far North District.
