This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation to suitably qualified providers based in the Hauraki region to submit a Proposal for the provision of rongoā services in the Hauraki region. The Ministry is seeking to contract with the successful Respondent to deliver rongoā services. Rongoā services include mirimiri (massage), karakia (including pastoral support) and whitiwhiti kōrero (cultural support). The preparation, prescribing and dispensing of rongoā rākau is excluded from this contract. The successful Respondent will be expected to deliver a minimum of 650 client contact sessions per year for the provision of one or more rongoā services – mirimiri, karakia and whitiwhiti kōrero in accordance with all Ministry standards including Tikanga ā-Rongoā 2014.
The rongoā service provides a service delivery that is equitable, accessible, efficient and safe for Māori. The service is available to all persons resident in the Hauraki region.
The successful Respondent will be offered a contract for services based on the Ministry’s standard terms and conditions. The proposed contract term is from 1 April 2018 through to 31 March 2021.
