The New Zealand Government has partnered with the Government of Kiribati to provide guidance and mentoring to the Kiribati Seafood Verification Agency while providing operational technical advice. Through this assistance to strengthen the Kiribati Seafood Verification Agency as the Competent Authority responsible for official and technical food safety assurances for overseas market access requirements, Kiribati will meet international obligations to manufacture and supply safe seafood products to international markets. Capacity-building will be an important part of the role.
• One-year term, part time (potential second year, part time may be agreed subject to availability of funding)
• Tarawa, Kiribati – Early 2020 start date
• New Zealand Government support programme
This role will appeal if you are interested in being part of a programme that directly contributes to the enhancement of local communities in Kiribati. The initial assignment will be for a period of one year, part time (potential second year, part time may be agreed subject to availability of funding) spent working with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development in Kiribati. A possible extension of up to a further two years on a fly-in-fly-out basis may be considered following the initial two years.
