ADVANCE NOTICE & SUPPLIER BRIEFING
The Decarbonisation and Heating Upgrade project is a cornerstone of our $250 million Campus Development Plan and a key enabler for delivery of our strategic goals.
Lincoln University, in conjunction with an energy and carbon consultant, has undertaken an extensive review of potential options to achieve the net carbon zero goal, resulting in the decision to move away from the centralised coal-fired steam boilers, to distributed electrical units that are customised to individual buildings based on each requirement. The decentralised solution, using a mixture of air source heat pumps and electric boilers distributed across the campus, is an outcome that minimises the need to upgrade existing building heating installations.
This program provides an opportunity to partner with us as we deliver:
• An exemplar of sustainable practices for the land-based sector and its ecosystems.
• Improved sustainability of the land-based sector from our distinctive and excellent research
• Best practice on sustainability challenges
• A climate action focus in our campus environment
What we need:
We are looking to partner with design and contractor organisations who can work alongside us and provide technical leadership, technical expertise, coordination and support to the decarbonisation and heating upgrade project on campus.
In addition to the appropriate technical skills and experience, we are looking for partners who are aligned with our values and who we can work with to build a transparent, collaborative, and meaningful partnership
From a technical perspective, the RFQ relates to the purchase of heating, ventilation, mechanical and electrical design and design management services:
o This includes design services,
o Appointment as the lead consultant to oversee any required supporting design (such as structural) and ancillary works associated with the delivery of the design
o Undertake the roll of Lead Consultant during design, construction, commissioning and handover.
We have previously made use of a panel of suppliers for this work, but challenges within the market recently have resulted in us needing to re-engage with the wider market. We will be happy to work with suppliers that are already on our HVAC panel.
