Housing New Zealand (the Principal) is a Crown agency that manages state housing on behalf of the New Zealand government. Its role is to provide healthy, comfortable and fit-for-purpose housing for people in need, for the duration of their need.
Housing New Zealand focuses on the efficient and effective management of state houses and the tenancies of those living in them. Housing New Zealand owns or manages approximately 64,000 properties nationwide, including about 1,500 houses for community groups providing residential services. More than 184,000 people live in Housing New Zealand properties.
Project
The Principal owns the site bordered by Cambridge Tce; and Durham Cres in Epuni, Lower Hutt. The original structures on the site have been demolished. The Principal now intends to redevelop the sites to provide a number of state houses ("Project").
The site will be divided into three stages. Each stage is available as packages of works. More information on the make up of these sections is included below and attached in Appendix I Material to Inform.
The development of the site will be undertaken in two phases. This registration of interest seeks requests for build works only. Civil works are being completed separate to this registration of interest.
