1) INTRODUCTION
Housing New Zealand Corporation (HNZ) is a Crown agency that manages housing on behalf of the New Zealand government. Its role is to provide healthy, comfortable and fit-for-purpose housing for people in need, for the duration of their need.
HNZ focuses on the efficient and effective management of state houses and the tenancies of those living in them. HNZ owns or manages approximately 64,000 properties nationwide, including about 1,500 houses for community groups providing residential services. More than 184,000 people live in HNZ properties.

2) BACKGROUND TO THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
HNZ has implemented a new staff performance management approach that focuses on regular one-on-one forward conversations and in-the-moment feedback. The new approach steps away from enforced half yearly and yearly reviews and compliance driven goal and development plan setting to an approach that supports regular catch ups and flexible plans to suit the needs of the individual.
HNZ staff numbers are currently just over 1,500.
HNZ is in the initial stages of exploring whether there is an opportunity to incorporate a technology solution which helps drive the desired behaviours by adopting a system that supports and guides users through the process as well as provide the ability to measure and track outcomes.
3) PURPOSE OF THE RFI
The purpose of this RFI is to gather information to understand the range of Staff Performance Management (SPM) suppliers in the market and understand more about their associated capabilities and how they align with the HNZ performance approach.
