Housing New Zealand Reinstatement & Refurbishment Panel
Housing New Zealand (HNZ) will soon be inviting suitable and capable companies to submit proposals to join a panel of contractors who will deliver reinstatement and refurbishment works for HNZ across New Zealand.
HNZ defines reinstatement and refurbishment works as the activities required to get a home back to a lettable standard, allowing us to offer the property to a new tenant. You probably call them renovations or refreshes.
Reinstatement works may be required at one of our properties following damage to the property that has arisen as a consequence of methamphetamine contamination, fire damage or some other unforeseen event. The reinstatement works required can be quite extensive. Refurbishment works can include updates to the property and its amenities (for example refreshes and renovations such as plastering and painting, updates to kitchens and bathrooms, flooring, etc).
In forming the panel, HNZ is seeking contractors that can take on all works necessary to refurbish or reinstate a property. Contractors will be able to register their interest for one region or multiple regions. HNZ is not seeking proposals from potential suppliers who specialise in only an element of the work required (for example companies solely focused on bathroom renovations).
HNZ intends to release this tender in January 2018. It will be released on GETS (the Government Electronic Tendering System) and Tenderlink. It is recommended that interested parties register their organisations with GETS (https://www.gets.govt.nz/) and Tenderlink (www.tenderlink.com/hnzc/) to receive notification when the RFP is released.
Once the Reinstatement & Refurbishment Panel is established, HNZ will only engage contractors on the panel to undertake works. If you’d like to work for HNZ, we encourage you to submit a response to the RFP.
NOTE: Housing New Zealand has changed the means by which Health & Safety is assessed as per the notice on GETS (RFX ID 19102301). HNZ has partnered with Impac PREQUAL to provide a Health and Safety pre-qualification assessment which HNZ will use to evaluate the practices and systems of businesses tendering for work. This panel will require respondents to have completed Impac PREQUAL health and safety assessment and obtain a minimum score of 50%.
