Gisborne District Council is looking for a supplier with the resources and expertise required to fast track the delivery of the Cook Landing Site Bridge project.

The bridge is proposed to be built as part of the Tairawhiti Navigations project and in conjunction with the upcoming 250th anniversary of Captain Cook’s landing on New Zealand soil. The bridge will provide access to the proposed walkway as well providing a lookout place with views south toward Young Nicks Head. The proposed bridge is to be located at the Puhi Kai Iti/ Cook Landing Site National Historic Reserve, located on Kaiti Beach Road, Gisborne. The 360-degree bridge will span above the Kaiti Beach Road and above the existing cottage site.

A critical component for success will be the employment of a competent experienced Senior Project Manager with the right skill set and expertise ready to drive the delivery of the project to a timely completion.

Having the right team with a solution focussed approach is also imperative to the successful delivery of the project.

There is no need to respond to this notification, it is only intended to give notice of the RFQ to come. We anticipate going to the market with an RFQ mid to late September 2019. This opportunity will be advertised on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS).
