Overview

EECA wishes to receive applications from individuals who wish to become Fuel Management Advisors (FMA) to extend participation of the Heavy Transport Programme to more transport operators.
Through its network of FMAs, EECA works to improve the fuel efficiency of the New Zealand heavy vehicle fleet. Fuel represents approximately 20% of the operating costs of heavy motor vehicles. Research undertaken overseas and verified in New Zealand operating conditions has demonstrated that by the adopting fuel efficient driving techniques and other related initiatives meaningful fuel savings can be made. Fuel efficient driving also improves road safety. EECA operates a programme to encourage operators of heavy motor vehicles (fleets) to implement fuel savings initiatives into their business and to monitor the outcome of these in terms of an overall reduction in fuel use, improved road safety, reduced emissions and a reduction in vehicle operating costs.
