Government House is the Wellington residence for the Governor General, located in Newtown.

The exterior painting work on Government House has been exposed to environmental weather conditions for approximately two and half years since the Buildings’ previous maintenance paint. The impact on the various coated substrates from predominate northern and southern seaward winds contaminated with salt spray aerosol has weathered the various painted surfaces, and they now require further maintenance work.

The house is used for functions as part of the Governor Generals programme and therefore access will be restricted at times. The programme of work will need to consider blocked out dates 24 Dec 16 - 8 Jan 17 inclusive, and 28 Jan - 7 Feb 17 inclusive. There may be other varying individual days of cease work, by and large these will be able to be notified during the Tender process.
