The Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) initiative between the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is currently in an early market engagement phase. This phase is intended to inform the TaaS programme about the market capability, key players, and trends in both supply and purchasing, to enable the programme to better understand the ability of the market to adapt to new demands, and the feasibility of doing so. This information, combined with information from agencies and potentially from further market engagement, will be used to inform possible solutions for the TaaS Programme.

A selection of respondents to the TaaS Request for Information (RFI), which closed on 7 July, has been invited to attend workshops as part of this early market engagement. All respondents (whether they are participating in workshops or otherwise) have been invited to submit written feedback and participate in a series of quick-fire sessions, where they can present their ideas related to the TaaS programme objectives detailed in the RFI. A schedule for the quick-fire sessions will be released in August.

As detailed in the RFI, we have prepared further guidance on the workshop objectives to assist interested parties in structuring their feedback. This guidance is now attached for consideration.
