The purpose of this Notice is to provide advance notification to the market of the Department of Corrections’ intention to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the supply of Primary Mental Health Education for Health Services staff.

The Department needs to procure continued education services for Health Staff to ensure they have the skills, knowledge and expertise to assess mental health needs, provide interventions and make referrals that would be expected of a primary health care nurse regarding the general mental health and well-being of patients in their care.

Pre-conditions:
1. Respondent must be a recognised education provider, that is, one of the following:
• an institute of technology and polytechnic (ITP)
• a private training establishment (PTE)
• a Wānanga
• a university
• a state or state-integrated school.

2. Respondent must have demonstrated experience and capability in providing mental health education in a course environment with ten or more participants, in a structured and consistent way, using suitably qualified trainers.

3. Respondent must be able to deliver regional education options (i.e. Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch).

The RFP is intended to be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) at the end of January 2018.
