This Notice gives advance notification to the market that the Department of Corrections(the Department) will release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the supply of Parenting Support Services to Department-run prisons (excludes privately operated prisons).
The Department is seeking to contract with appropriate providers for the following Services:
The Services will:
1. provide parenting skills education to people in prison
2. support participants in their roles as parents in prison
3. improve outcomes for the children with parents in prison
4. reduce re-offending by participants; and
5. reduce the likelihood of children with a parent(s) in prison engaging in criminal/anti-social activity themselves.
The Department will purchase a parenting support service that includes a tailored parenting support plan for every participant, a short parenting skills education and support programme and follow up/maintenance activity if required by a participant.
The RFP will be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in mid/late February 2018.
Any responses or information provided to the Department at this stage will not be considered. The Department will not, in general, enter into any communications regarding the nature of this opportunity before the publication of the RFP.
