The purpose of this Notice is to provide advance notification to the market of the Department of Corrections (Corrections) intention to issue an open Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision of Packages of Care for Prisoners, for a contract period of 3 years with a possible right of renewal of a further 1+1 years.

The services are expected to commence in December 2017 and will be restricted to eligible prisoners in 16 prisons namely:

Northland Region Corrections Facility
Auckland Prison
Auckland Region Women’s Corrections Facility
Central:
Spring Hill Corrections Facility
Tongariro Prison
Waikeria Prison
Lower North:
Hawkes Bay Regional Prison
Manawatu Prison
Rimutaka Prison
Whanganui Prison
Arohata Prison
Southern:
Christchurch Men’s Prison
Christchurch Women’s Prison
Rolleston Prison
Otago Corrections Facility
Invercargill Prison

Contracted service providers will work with individuals experiencing mental health issues. Increased access to mental health services will be available in prisons. Corrections preference is to have a small number of regional providers who will provide the Package of Care services across prisons in the chosen region.

The RFP is intended to be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in July 2017.

No information from potential respondents is requested nor required from this advance notice. Suppliers who are interested in being part of the proposed RFP process should ensure that they are registered to receive GETS notifications for the applicable RFx Categories.
