ANZSCC / TenderWatch codes
Q. What are ANZSCC Codes?
A. Australian and New Zealand Standard Commodity Classification (ANZSCC)
codes represent goods and services (ie commodities) that are outputs of
industry. This is a joint development (Australia and New Zealand) for the
collection and presentation of commodity statistics. Emphasis has been placed
on alignment with international standards. Note the codes are maintained by
"Australian Bureau of Statistics" and "Statistics New Zealand". ICN has used
the coding down to three (3) digits as this tends to match tender opportunities
and company capabilities within reason. You can find these codes on our
website.
Q. How do opportunities get coded?
A. This is worked on a best fit against the ANZSCC codes, sometimes an
opportunity will fall into a number of categories or not readily appear to be
related to any… there are codes to cover these, such as "389 - Other
manufactured articles n.e.c." and "879 - Other business services" plus others.
Also n.e.c. stands for not elsewhere classified.
Note: If you think an opportunity is classified completely out of context,
please advise us as this could disadvantange local companies who may not be
aware of it.
Browsers
Q. If you have IE ver 5.5 , ver 6 or Netscape 6 and experiencing
problems.
A. Suggest you turn off either SSL 2 or TLS 1. These settings are in the
Tools - Internet Options - Advanced. (ensure SSL 3 is ticked)
Q. Known Problem with 56 bit Cipher Strength (on older versions of
browsers).

A. Cookies are a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a
web server. The Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) is password
protected, and as such provides your computer with a Cookie when you login that
lets you access GETS. The Cookies have been set up as temporary data (only in

other web sites that require a different type (permanent Cookies) which are
saved to your Hard Drive.

local industry receives fair and equal opportunity to tender for Government
Procurement Opportunities. Also, as part of the ICN that covers Australia and
New Zealand (under ANZCERTA) opportunities and information are shared with the
Australian State ICNs, hence Australian companies should approach their local
ICN for any relevant opportunities.

A. If you have registered (and been granted access) you require your
email address as you username, and a password.

Major Projects and other procurement opportunities, and also to send you
information, such as notification of opportunities or latest news bulletins.
